While studying film at Purchase College, David's career in makeup began with what was supposed to be a part-time job in a Nordstrom's cosmetics department. After putting in his time behind the counter, he soon found himself backstage working on runway shows including Patricia Field, Heatherette and Diesel.

Since then, his work has been seen in print for Zink, Time Out, New York Magazine, Interview,, and American Salon, and for advertising clients including Target, Best Buy, and General Electric. As an educator, David has conducted Airbrush Makeup seminars that have included the makeup departments of ESPN and All My Children. Additionally, he is the CEO and Creative Director of New York based professional makeup line, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.
